In this study, we aimed to investigate the potential anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic activities of SNG in a panel of MM cell lines (U266, IM9, MM1S, and RPMI-8226). SNG treatment of MM cells resulted in a dose-dependent decrease in cell viability through mitochondrial membrane potential loss and activation of caspase 3, 9, and cleavage of PARP. Voriconazole exposure and longer duration of voriconazole were found to be significantly associated with increased risk of squamous cell carcinoma. 650,000 renal, hepatic, and cardiothoracic (heart and/or lung) transplants have been performed in the U.S. since 1988, with UNOS reporting a 20% increase in transplants between 2012 through 2016. The immunosuppression vital to maintaining graft survival comes with a 65-200X greater frequency of SCC compared to the non-transplant population.
