Neurocognitive Correlates of Resilience in Late-Life Depression

Late-life depression (LLD) is a common and debilitating disorder, with roughly 8-16% of older adults experiencing clinically significant symptoms1 and 2% meeting criteria for major depressive disorder (MDD).2 LLD is more chronic than depression experienced earlier in life3 and significantly predicts cognitive decline.4 With the population rapidly aging, identifying factors that support sustained remission is a high public health priority.
