Educational and Research Foundation for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Leslie Bernstein Resident Research Grant The purpose of this grant is to stimulate original resident research in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery projects that are well-conceived and scientifically valid, with the potential to advance facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. The grant is endowed by funds from Leslie Bernstein, MD, DDS. ELIGIBILITY Candidates for this grant should reside in the U.S. or Canada and be a resident physician (M.D.) in an accredited otolaryngology-head and neck surgery training program. Applicants must be residents who are AAFPRS members. Residents at any level may apply even if the research work will be done during their fellowship year. All applicants are required to have sponsorship and oversight of the department chair or by an AAFPRS member as mentor. Previous AAO-HNS Foundation research grant recipients are not eligible to compete for this grant. Candidates who have successfully obtained funding from a private or federal funding agency as the Principal Investigator for the same research are also ineligible. Candidates who have applied for support of the same research from other funding sources, and who are notified of an award from both another agency and from the AAFPRS Foundation must choose only one of the awards.
