The Interaction of Obesity with Smoking and with Inflammatory Arthropathies Increases the Risk of Periprosthetic Joint Infection: A Propensity Score-Matched Study in a Chinese Han Population

ConclusionObesity is an independent risk factor for the development of PJI in the Chinese Han population. Moreover, surgeons should be aware that additional increased risk of PJI exists in obese patients who also have smoking habits or inflammatory arthritis.
