Tanzania:Why a Prevention Strategy for Heart Diseases Is Key
[Citizen] For a long time there has been a myth that heart diseases is only for rich and obese individuals. Today in the country cardio-vascular diseases (CVDs) are on the rise. Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in sub-Saharan Africa in adults over the age of 30 years and the sad fact is that this rise is in a poor resource health care system that now has to address the double epidemic of Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and infectious diseases.
