Johnson & Johnson defends talc products in latest court proceeding
Johnson& Johnson is being sued by a group of 22 ovarian cancer patients.
The New Brunswick, New Jersey-based company (NYS: JNJ) faces charges that its talc-based products contain asbestos. The trial was brought forward by women who contend that J&J-branded baby powder contained the cancer-causing substance dating back at least to the 1970s. They also contend that J&J knew its talc was contaminated but failed to warn consumers about the risks.
