Home continuous positive airway pressure for cardiopulmonary indications in infants and children

A number of reports exist regarding the use of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) to manage obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) in children, which we term ‘conventional CPAP’. In contrast, there are few reports of home CPAP use for other indications, which we have grouped under the term ‘cardiopulmonary’. The aims of this study were to (1) document cardiopulmonary indications for CPAP use in a cohort of infants and children, and (2) evaluate i ts effectiveness in this group.
