ESC: Gout Drug Little Help in Heart Surgery (CME/CE)
BARCELONA (MedPage Today) -- Giving the gout drug colchicine perioperatively to cardiac surgery patients reduced the incidence of postpericardiotomy syndrome, but didn't protect against later atrial fibrillation or pericardial/pleural effusion, researchers reported here.
