OHSU ditches 'archaic' transplant policy
Oregon Health& Science University reversed course and announced Wednesday that it had ditched its “archaic" transplant policy that had prevented an undocumented woman from getting evaluated for a liver transplant.
“Upon learning of the policy, OHSU leaders acted immediately and terminated the policy,” the university said in a written statement posted on its website. “We deeply regret th e pain this has caused the family.”
