Effect of nano-silver, nano-copper, deconex and benzalkonium chloride on biofilm formation and expression of transcription regulatory quorum sensing gene (rh1R) in drug-resistance Pseudomonas aeruginosa burn isolates

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the major cause of burn sepsis, and there are several reports about outbreaks of infections by this bacterium in burn centers of different hospitals worldwide [1]. According to the survey conducted by the US National Healthcare Safety (2007), out of approximately 28,000 cases of nosocomial infections from 463 hospitals over a 22 month period, P. aeruginosa was found to be the most frequently occurring pathogen, especially in burn wounds, AIDS and cystic fibrosis patients [2].
