I have big news to share.

Oprah Winfrey once advised her viewers, “Step into the new story you are willing to create.”  Thank you for indulging me as I share with you the new story I’m beginning to craft for myself and for the causes in which I deeply believe. I have decided to bring my firm, Amplify Public Affairs, to close by year’s end.  This was not a decision easily made.  My goal with Amplify was to create a firm that would shatter the conventional public affairs mold of press releases and pitch calls.  We focused on the value of strategic alliances, not only for the benefit of our clients but also to offer megaphones to organizations representing women and minorities whose voices were too seldom heard.  And, most important of all, we served clients whose greatest priority was not simply making money, but rather to transform, to heal, to elevate. In so many ways, I have been the luckiest lady in the world for having had the opportunity to work at Amplify with a team of committed, talented professionals, each of whom will continue to leave their own unique and important fingerprints on the world. (Side note:  The project developed at Amplify that remains closest to my heart, Disruptive Women in Health Care, will continue, although not under my daily supervision.  I’m delighted to announce that the highly-respected Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is acquiring the rights to Disruptive Women.
