ConclusionsAECRS are negatively associated with the level of asthma control in asthmatic CRS patients, independent of CRS symptom severity. Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is an inflammatory disease of the sinonasal cavity lasting longer than twelve weeks and is frequently characterized by the presence of nasal polyps. While, the etiology of CRS remains elusive, perturbations of the nasal microbiome and increased markers of the inflammatory state within the mucosal membranes have been demonstrated in affected individuals. Balanced inter-microbial exchange maintains the microbiota community and leads to anti-inflammatory host interactions.
