Section 6.2 discusses antibiotics and new classifications: ACCESS, WATCH, and RESERVE, for good antibiotic stewardship and prevention of antimicrobial resistance. The Expert Committee on Selection and Use of Essential Medicines took actions that included recommending the addition of 30 new medicines to the EML (17 to the core list and 13 to the complementary list).
