The incidence of long heterochromatic polymorphism variants in infants conceived through assisted reproductive technologies

This study included a total of 647 infants, including 189 conceived by ICSI, 177 by IVF, and 281 naturally conceived (NC). Variants were observed in 13.23% of ICSI, 15.82% of IVF and 12.46% of NC infants, showing that the incidence of variants does not appear to be significantly different between infants conceived using assisted reproductive technologies and infants conceived naturally. Because the parents of these infants were not karyotyped, we can only speculate as to whether these variants were directly inherited. This study concludes that infants born from infertile parents using assisted reproductive technologies to achieve pregnancy do not appear to be any more likely than NC infants of fertile parents to possess long heterochromatic variants.

Conclusion: Our results indicated that GnRH agonist pre-treatment before starting the long GnRH agonist protocol does not improve the live birth rate in fresh embryo transfer cycles or CLBR in infertile women with adenomyosis after IVF/ICSI treatment when compared to that in non-pre-treated patients. ConclusionThis study concurs with the recent data suggesting that employing ICSI solely for teratospermia is unnecessary. This may allow clinics to decrease ICSI rates without sacrificing success rates, leading to lower cost and risk associated with treatment.

ConclusionsThe study highlights the importance of sperm quality for the efficacy of assisted reproduction treatments. This influence may remain relatively cryptic in association with normal or high ovarian response, but emerge decisively in cases of reduced ovarian response, suggesting a relationship between ovarian response and oocyte ability to compensate for paternal-derived deficiencies.

We report the case of bilateral tubal ectopic pregnancy. The patient was 30 years old and had a 3-year history of infertility; she was referred to the in-vitro fertilization (IVF) program because of tubal factor infertility. A pregnancy resulted from the transfer of two embryos during an artificial cycle.
