Tu1025 A Comparative Study of Propofol Versus Propofol –Fentanyl for Sedated Colonoscopies by Non-Anesthesiologist
Gastrointestinal endoscopies are invasive, unpleasant and sometimes painful procedures. Sedation is essential to reduce the anxiety, pain and also to increase their efficacy. Various sedation and analgesia regimens can be used, such as midazolam, fentanyl and propofol. Propofol is considered the best single sedation agent for endoscopy. Our purpose was to compare propofol alone and in combination with fentanyl for sedated colonoscopies.
