Diagnostic Yield of Prolonged Cardiac Rhythm Monitoring in Cryptogenic Stroke (I2-1.003)

CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrates the diagnostic yield of cardiac rhythm monitoring of up to 30 days is significantly lower than previously reported. This may be secondary to differences in monitoring devices used, the variability in definition of cryptogenic stroke, and duration of monitoring. Alternatively, longer duration of monitoring with implantable devices may be needed to detect paroxysmal AF, particularly in those with clinical, electrocardiographic or echocardiographic features associated with this dysrhythmia.Disclosure: Dr. Kalani has nothing to disclose.
