Impact of Real-Time-Image Gating on Spot Scanning Proton Therapy for Lung Tumors: A Simulation Study

This study investigated the impact of beam gating for lung treatment and demonstrated that a gating window of ±2 mm is appropriate in a trade-off between dose distribution and treatment time.
