Current Safety Concerns with Human Papillomavirus Vaccine: A Cluster Analysis of Reports in VigiBase ®

ConclusionsCluster analysis reveals additional reports of AEs following HPV vaccination that are serious in nature and describe symptoms that overlap those reported in cases from the recent safety signals (POTS, CRPS, and CFS), but which do not report explicit diagnoses. While the causal association between HPV vaccination and these AEs remains uncertain, more extensive analyses of spontaneous reports can better identify the relevant case series for thorough signal evaluation.

In this study, a hybrid model has been designed by using stacked generalisation ensemble technique for prediction of linear B-cell epitopes. The goal of using stacked generalisation ensemble approach is to refine predictions of base classifiers and to get rid of the worse predictions. In this study, six machine learning models are fused to predict variable length epitopes (6–49 mers). The proposed ensemble model achieves 76.6% accuracy and average accuracy of repeated 10-fold cross-validation is 73.14%. The trained ensemble model has been tested on the benchmark dataset and compared with existing sequential B-cell ep...

ProchaskaAbstractCannabis has been legalized, decriminalized, or medicalized in over half the U.S. states. With restrictions on cannabis research, accepted standards to guide clinical practice are lacking. Analyzing online communications through a digital health platform, we characterized patient questions about cannabis use and provider responses. Coded for content were 4579 questions posted anonymously online between March 2011 through J...

Want to ask people's opinion on this. Has been a follower on this forum and have found the input and discussion valuable Recently I have a few patients came to me, some by referral, but they don't have insurance, they want to pay cash for their visits but only want me to manage their opioid. Sometime I just don't know what to do with these patients, if I recommend procedures, it's probably too costly and they won't be able to afford or no interest in pursuing. I just don't like the optic of... Cash pay for narcotics

AbstractPurpose of reviewHigh resolution esophageal manometry (HRM) has expanded understanding of esophageal motor function. The Chicago Classification scheme has allowed systematic categorization of the myriad of manometric parameters identified during HRM. Multichannel intraluminal impedance pH has enhanced ambulatory reflux monitoring through complete assessment of esophageal content transit. However, the clinical implications of identified minor esophageal functional disorders remain unclear.Recent findingsEsophagogastric junction outlet obstruction is defined by esophagogastric junction obstruction with preserved peri...

AbstractA systematic review was conducted to provide an overview of the efficacy and safety of125I irradiation stent placement for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and main portal vein tumor thrombosis (MPVTT). Six studies with 406 patients were included in the final analysis. The median overall survival for patients treated with125I irradiation stent placement was 10.3  months. The most common radiation-related adverse event was leukopenia. The stent-related adverse events consisted of fever, abdominal pain, hemorrhage, and anorexia. No stent or seed migration was reported. Overall, the use of an125I irra...
