Aldosterone's rapid, nongenomic effects are mediated by striatin: a modulator of aldosterone's effect on estrogen action.

In conclusion, our results indicate that striatin is a novel mediator for both aldosterone's and estrogen's rapid and nongenomic mechanisms of action on pERK and peNOS, respectively, thereby suggesting a unique level of interactions between the mineralocorticoid receptor and the estrogen receptor in the cardiovascular system.
