Endogenous interleukin-17 as a factor determining severity of Clostridium difficile infection in mice.
In conclusion, the present data demonstrate that endogenous IL-17 may be a factor determining severity of CDI in mice. Although the mechanism was fully unknown, IL-17-mediated inflammatory responses, such as cytokine/chemokine productions and neutrophil accumulation, may be plausible targets for future investigations. Key words: Clostridium difficile, Interleukin-17, neutrophils, mice model.
