Teens with bulimia recover faster when parents are included in treatment

(University of California - San Francisco) Involving parents in the treatment of adolescents with bulimia nervosa is more effective than treating the patient individually, according to a study led by Daniel Le Grange, Ph.D., Benioff UCSF Professor in children's health in the departments of psychiatry and pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco, and James Lock, M.D., Ph.D., professor of psychiatry at Stanford University School of Medicine.
