Call for Applications: Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation Bridge Grants Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) evolved from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) into a national fundraising movement to raise awareness and find cures for all childhood cancers. All applications must be received by April 10, 2014 - 11:59 PM ET. This is a one year award of $100,000 in total costs All applications must be submitted via ALSFgrants.org. ALSF’s Bridge Grant is designed to sustain research projects falling between the end of funding by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) R or P Award and the beginning of a competitively renewed NIH Award. ALSF will support projects via this mechanism for a maximum of 12 months. If NIH funding is secured and begins before the end of this 12 month period, ALSF must be notified and will cease its financial support of the project. Projects funded via this mechanism that do not receive funding from the NIH within 12 months are not eligible to reapply for the ALSF Bridge Grant. Eligibility: Project must have been previously funded by NIH R01, R03, R21 or P01 Award. (R01 Supplements are not eligible for Bridge Grants) Researchers must have applied to the NIH for an R01 or P01 renewal for an ongoing project or to continue the project via new R01 or P01 and received notification dated within the last 6 months.
