Should I Cut Out Everything To Be Healthy?

Sugar: it's in everything we eat, we love it, and it's absolutely killing us. Deaths from type 2 diabetes, obesity, and heart disease have all been linked to sugar intake, and yet our national consumption has never been higher. Thank goodness we had nutrition expert and bestselling author Cynthia Sass on the show to help navigate us through this sugar nightmare. In cutting sugar out of our diet, is it best to make a clean break with everything bad, all at once? Cynthia doesn't really think so. Instead, she often finds a severe change “backfires, and can lead to rebounding, binge eating, and eventually throwing in the towel.” The most important thing to consider, when assembling a new diet, is sustainability. Can the changes in food and behavior be sustained long term? “If we do something in the short term, it's not gonna benefit you, health wise or for your waistline.” Watch my full interview with Cynthia Sass here.
