Accuracy of robotic radiosurgery in renal cell carcinoma
Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) using robotic radiosurgery is an emerging treatment option for patients with renal cell carcinoma [1 –4]. Single-fraction SBRT is clinically proven to be highly effective, with a local tumor control rate of 95 % at five years [3,5]. High doses in single-fraction treatments require high targeting accuracy to avoid toxicity to adjacent normal tissues. Tumors in the abdomen move with the respirator y cycle, leading to treatment uncertainties. Methods such as deep-inspiration breath-hold and compression aim to minimize organ motion during beam delivery.
