Comparative profile of neurocognition and quality of life in Parkinson ’s disease with and without psychosis

Background: Deficits in neurocognitive functions have been previously reported in Parkinson ’s disease (PD). Psychosis in PD is one of the most common non-motor symptoms impacting neurocognition and quality of life (QOL). Therefore, it is of paramount importance to gain insight into the ramifications of psychosis for effective treatment and management. Limited research with small samples exists; the current study uniquely examines a larger PD cohort, assessing the difference in cognition and QOL between PD patients with psychosis (PDP) and those without (PDNP).
