135. Psychiatric Medication and Physiological Responses to Alcohol in Young Adults With Bipolar Disorder

Alcohol use problems occur at higher rates in bipolar disorder than the general population. Youth with bipolar disorder may experience alcohol intoxication differently with this relating to risk for alcohol misuse. It is unclear how psychiatric medication affects response to alcohol in bipolar disorder. This preliminary study investigates physiological responses to alcohol in young adults with bipolar disorder and effects of medication.
