Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation for reducing postoperative acute pain after hip fracture surgery: a double-blinded randomized clinical trial

CONCLUSIONS: The findings of this study indicate that TENS application to the surgical wound, lumbar plexus, and sciatic nerve using anatomical landmarks can significantly reduce postoperative pain, as demonstrated by the higher VAS scores, higher total analgesic consumption and high additional analgesic need in the control group after hip fracture surgery.CLINICALTRIALS: gov ID: NCT02642796.PMID:38639518 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202404_35907
