Higher prevalence of thyroid-specific autoantibodies (TPOAb and TgAb) is related to a higher prevalence of fractures in females: results from NHANES 2007 –2010

ConclusionHigher prevalence of thyroid-specific autoantibodies may lead to decreased BMD. In females, higher prevalence of TgAb and TPOAb significantly associated with fractures and TPOAb especially relating to the fractures of hip and spine. Males patients with vitamin  D deficiency or insufficiency associated a higher possibility of fractures.
