Evaluating the Tolerability of Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists in Lung Transplant Recipients

Purpose: Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) are approved for the treatment of diabetes mellitus and obesity. GLP-1RA side effects overlap with those of commonly used lung transplant medications including nausea, diarrhea, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and delayed gastric motility. The safety and tolerability of GLP-1RAs after lung transplantation is unknown.
