Murine model of eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis inducing neuroinflammation and olfactory dysfunction

Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a prevalent condition affecting approximately 12% of the global population.1,2 CRS is defined by localized inflammation of the nasal and paranasal sinus mucosa, resulting in symptoms such as rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, olfactory dysfunction, and facial pain persisting for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks.3 Despite ongoing efforts, CRS remains a complex area necessitating further exploration, with challenges persisting in its classification, subtyping, and treatment strategies.
