Laparoscopically confirmed endometriosis and anti-M üllerian hormone levels: Findings from the Nurses' Health Study II

Anti-m üllerian hormone (AMH) is secreted by granulosa cells in the ovaries in proportion to the number of developing follicles [1]. As a woman ages, her AMH steadily declines which mirrors the decline in the number of available oocytes for ovulation [2]. While AMH does not predict pregnancy success in wo men trying to conceive, it is associated with oocyte yield, infertility diagnoses, and time to menopause. AMH has become a commonly used proxy for clinically monitoring declines in ovarian function [2,3].
