Response

We read with great appreciation the insightful comments by Oyama et  al.1 They state that patients with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) are at risk for the development of IPMN-derived carcinoma and are also at an elevated risk for the development of concomitant pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). In their longitudinal cohort of 1404 patients w ith branch-duct IPMN, 68 patients experienced pancreatic carcinoma: 38 (55.9%) had IPMN-derived carcinoma, and 30 (44.1%) had concomitant PDAC.
