Barriers to Pain Management as Perceived by Cancer and Noncancer Patients With Chronic Disease

Pain is one of the most crippling and disabling effects of both cancer and noncancer chronic diseases since it is the most common symptom experienced by them regardless of the etiology (Hurwitz et al., 2018; Wood et al., 2019). The incidence and prevalence of pain have dramatically increased globally as a result of the ongoing rise in the number of cancer cases and chronic diseases (Ciaramitaro et al., 2017). According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it was reported that there were 11,559 newly diagnosed cancer cases in Jordan in 2020 (WHO, 2020).
