Dysregulated nasal mucosal antiviral transcriptome in young children with problematic wheeze infected with rhinovirus (RV)

Preschool children with problematic wheeze have significant morbidity and are at increased risk to develop asthma. Our previous studies identified a surprising number with rhinovirus (RV) infection in their airway, despite absence of acute “cold” symptoms, suggesting an impaired anti-viral immune response.
