Using 15-Oxo-ETE for Risk Stratifying Aspirin Hypersensitivity in Asthma Patients

15-oxo-eicosatetraenoic acid (15-oxo-ETE), a downstream product on arachidonic acid (AA) via 15-lipoxygenase-1 (15- LOX-1) pathway was markedly higher in nasal polyp tissue of patients with aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD) compared to control groups. We suggested a possible role of 15-oxo-ETE as an in vitro diagnostic biomarker for AERD.
