A Retrospective Analysis of Concussion and Post-concussional Syndrome Diagnoses in Western Australian Emergency Departments

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is predicted to remain one of the top three leading cause of disease burden globally up to 2030 [1]. It is estimated that there are 190,000-200,000 cases per year of TBI in Australia [2], of which 74-90% are expected to be mild TBI (concussion) [3,4], however, the lack of clear data in this area hinders epidemiological studies.
