Truncus arteriosus is a rare cyanotic congenital heart disease (1.5%). That has a poor prognosis if not treated surgically in early childhood. In this disorder, blood is pumped from the heart to the systemic, pulmonary, and coronary circulations via a single trunk located above the interventricular septum.
