Factors influencing the composition of fatty acids in erythrocyte membranes in Latvian pregnant women

Rationale: Dietary fats are essential for maternal and fetal health during pregnancy [1]. Determination of fatty acids in erythrocytes characterizes the fatty acid profile, which is influenced by diet, age, ethnicity, genetics and endogenous metabolism, BMI, health status, lifestyle factors and other factors [2]. The aim of the study is to evaluate the relationship between fatty acid parameters in erythrocyte membrane phospholipids and their influencing factors: food products and supplements, BMI, and lifestyle factors in Latvian pregnant women.
