Conducting formative research during a pandemic threat to inform the development of an obesity prevention social and behaviour change communication strategy in Tonga

CONCLUSIONS: Co-design in the formative research process was able to be fostered via online communication processes to overcome the challenges of Covid-19 travel restrictions. The innovative approach provided a number of learnings including identification of national and regional priorities and improved efficiencies in SBCC planning, implementation and evaluation.
