Post-Concussion Clinical Insomnia is Associated with Heightened Symptom Severity, Lower Cognitive Function and Delayed Recovery Duration in Children and Adolescents

Introduction: Despite sleep disturbance being commonly reported following concussion, it is often not routinely screened for and overlooked in the overarching management of concussion. The aims of this study were to: 1) identify the prevalence of post-concussion clinical insomnia (PCCI) in children and adolescents diagnosed with concussion, and 2) ascertain what demographic characteristics and clinical indicators of concussion recovery are associated with PCCI in a paediatric cohort.
