An observational pilot study of sleep disruption and delirium in critically ill children
Delirium is a frequent complication of pediatric critical illness associated with poor outcomes, including increased length of stay (LOS), healthcare costs, and mortality.1 Sleep/wake cycle disturbances are frequently observed in children with delirium and included as criteria in pediatric delirium screening.2,3 However, few researchers have explored the relationship between sleep disruption and pediatric delirium.
