Continuing narcotics via telemedicine
I have a patient treated with oral narcotics for cancer pain. They are apparently severely immunocompromised and requesting telemedicine visits. As I understand if I have seen patient in person initially this is an option however the Ryan Haight act is not crystal clear to me. I was planning on seeing in office every three months and telemedicine the months in between. I live in Texas. Is this legal? Should I call the DEA to double check this?
