Navigating The 2022 Global Contrast Media Shortage: The Use Of Non-contrast Cardiac Computed Tomography Or Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging For Pre-procedural Planning For Pulmonary Vein Isolation For Atrial Fibrillation
Introduction: Due to the recent shortage of iodinated contrast media (ICM), we implemented the use of non-contrast cardiac computed tomography (NCCT) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) for the pre-procedural planning of pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) to help conserve ICM supply in our hospital. We investigated the differences in procedure-related outcomes following the use of NCCT or CMR in comparison to the use of cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) for pre-procedural planning for PVI.
