Impact Of Coronary Ct Angiography In Asymptomatic Diabetic Patients - Pilot Study

Introduction: The previous FACTOR-64 study indicated that CCTA screening in asymptomatic patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) showed a trend towards improving outcomes but percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was a suggested therapy. The ISCHEMIA and COURAGE trials have shown that PCI does not improve outcomes in patients with obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) compared to medical therapy. There is limited data on the impact of CCTA on patient management for asymptomatic type 2 DM patients in terms of medical therapy change.
