Coronary Plaque Radiomic Phenotypes Are Associated With Major Adverse Cardiac Events: Insights From The SCOT-HEART Trial

Introduction: Coronary plaque volumes measured on coronary CT angiography (CCTA) are associated with major adverse cardiac events (MACE). Radiomics-based precision phenotyping of coronary plaques can identify vulnerable plaque morphology. However, it remains unknown whether the radiomic signature of coronary plaques can predict MACE beyond plaque volumes. Our aim was to evaluate whether latent coronary plaque phenotypes assessed using radiomic analysis are associated with incident fatal or nonfatal myocardial infarction (MI) in a post hoc analysis of the SCOT-HEART trial.
