Predictors of acute coronary syndrome symptom knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs in adults without self-reported heart disease

Over 1 million people in the U.S. experience Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) each year, and over 18 million adults in the U.S. live with a diagnosis of coronary artery disease, or CAD.1 Prompt treatment for ACS – inclusive of unstable angina, non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction, and ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) – is essential to improve blood supply to the myocardium rapidly (critical in the case of STEMI) and to provide other evidence-based treatments that will afford patients better clinical outcomes.
