Infectious Diseases in Obstetrics and Gynecology: Moving Forward in the Twenty-First Century

Infectious diseases are more important than ever in the twenty-first century. Not only did the COVID-19 pandemic catapult scrutiny of infectious disease epidemiology and prevention measures into the mainstream media and dinner table discussion, but also,  thanks to social media, there are countless official and unofficial sources of information for public consumption. Emerging diseases continue to grab headlines, from COVID-19 to Mpox (or Monkeypox), Ebola virus and Marburg virus outbreaks and the “triple-demic” of COVID-19, influenza, and resp iratory syncytial virus surges in 2022.
