Lower Omega-3 Status Associated with Higher Erythrocyte Distribution Width and Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio in UK Biobank Cohort

A complete blood count is a routine component of medical exams that provides comprehensive hematologic information. Using standardized reference ranges, healthy individuals can be distinguished from those with nutrient deficiencies, infections, tissue damage, and inflammation. In addition to basic information provided by hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelet and white blood cell counts, the red blood cell distribution width (RDW) is routinely used to diagnose anemias [1] and may be useful to assess overall wellness [2].
