Early mortality and neurologic outcomes following mitral valve surgery in the very elderly
ConclusionsIn patients ≥80 years old, mitral valve repair (MVr) was shown to be associated with a decreased adjusted odds of mortality, with a null association with CVA. These results suggest that, if feasible, MVr should remain the preferred management strategy, even in the very elderly.
