ConclusionsFunctional surgery inclusive of QF aponeurectomy can be effective in reducing or suppressing spasticity in chronic stroke patients. This is possibly a result of the reduction in neuromuscular spindle activation due to a decrease in muscle shortening, passive tension, and stiffness.
